Dr. Dean Wright, DC

CCPA CEO

Dr. Dean Wright is the Chief Executive Officer at the Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association (CCPA). In this respect, Dr. Wright manages a wide array of professional negligence and licensing authority matters on behalf of CCPA members. He is also a resource to members seeking advice on practice and risk management matters. Prior to joining CCPA, Dr. Wright was a practicing chiropractor for 25 years in Newmarket, Ontario in a multi practitioner clinic he owned. He is a graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and the University of Guelph. He has served on a number of boards and councils, including the Ontario Chiropractic Association, the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board, CMCC Research and Ethics Board, CMCC students’ council and the Canadian Chiropractic Guidelines Task Force.

Dr. Varsha Kumar, DC, DACBR, FCCR(C)

Dr. Varsha Kumar completed her chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). She further pursued her radiology residency in California where she completed a placement at the Los Angeles County Hospital. After acquiring her diplomat status from the American Chiropractic Board of Radiologists, she was then accepted as a Fellow of the Chiropractic College of Radiologists of Canada. She is currently the Chair of Diagnostic Imaging in the Undergraduate Studies Division and Program Coordinator of Diagnostic Imaging in Graduate Studies at CMCC. Dr. Kumar in her role as a resource clinical radiologist also enjoys interacting and discussing cases with interns and clinicians when reviewing their patient’s diagnostic images. Dr. Kumar is a strong advocate for evidence-based medicine and best practices.

Dr. Bill Hsu, DC, DACBR, FCCR(C)

An associated professor and faculty radiologist at CMCC diagnostic imaging department, Dr. Hsu has been teaching diagnostic imaging and interpreting diagnostic imaging studies since 1995 after he has received his diplomat status from the American Chiropractic Board of Radiologists and accepted as a fellow of Chiropractic College of Radiologists of Canada. His interest is in sport related and cervical injuries and has published case reports on these topics. He has authored and co-authored numerous papers in referenced Journals including JCCA, JMPT and JNMS and a chapter in Haldeman’s textbook, The Principles and Practice of Chiropractic. He was president of the College of Chiropractic Radiologists of Canada from 2003-2006. He has provided continuing education lectures to chiropractors across Canada and trained sports and radiology residents at CMCC.
