Description & Learning Objectives

There’s so much to potentially consider when you’re planning to start a practice. From getting licensed and insured to joining your associations and then all the nuances of starting a business, it’s understandable that graduating students would have several questions about where to begin! As well, whether you decide to use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platform or paper-based system, maintaining contemporaneous records can seem tedious at times but it’s one of the most important parts of chiropractic treatment. In this panel-based discussion with CCA chiropractors, Drs. Ayla Azad and Crystal Draper, and the Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association’s Chief Experience Officer, Dr. Dean Wright, we will discuss healthy habits to establish early in practice to elevate the patient experience while protecting yourself and your business.

  1. Understand the process after graduation: Getting licensed, joining your national and provincial associations, choosing the right protection for your business and yourself.
  2. Gather key considerations for starting a practice and business.
  3. Learn best practices for maintaining contemporaneous records from the Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association.
  4. Understand how all practice-related decisions ultimately impact the patient experience.
