This one-hour presentation will contextualize a clinical case while demonstrating how the Report of Findings can be used to build rapport and trust with your patient. Dr. Thistle will summarize the most important take-aways from the CCA’s Patient Experience Initiative, including what patients report as the most important elements during their chiropractic visits that keep them coming back. Dr. Kapoor will then walk through how to apply these findings to a real-life case using technology.

Instructors

Dr. Shawn Thistle, DC

RRS Founder

Dr. Thistle is a chiropractor, educator, speaker, knowledge transfer leader and medico-legal consultant. He graduated from CMCC in 2004 and until 2016, he practiced in a multidisciplinary clinic in Toronto. In 2006, he founded RRS Education (www.rrseducation.com), which offers evidence-based continuing education options for chiropractors including weekly Research Reviews, Online Courses and Seminars. RRS Education helps busy chiropractors stay on top of new information, giving them understandable, applicable, unbiased analysis of the latest literature to optimize patient care.

Dr. Karishma Kapoor, DC

CCA Member Experience Specialist

When she’s not working to represent and support the chiropractic profession as the part-time Member Experience Specialist for the Canadian Chiropractic Association, Dr. Kapoor can be found actively nurturing her practice and educating herself on the most current evidence-based patient care approaches. She is the sole proprietor of her own business and an Associate at Bright Health Co. in Toronto, ON. During her undergraduate years, Dr. Kapoor was a Research Associate at the University of Alberta in the Department of Clinical Physiology, Faculty of Pulmonary Medicine. In that time, Dr. Kapoor presented at various conferences and won three awards for her undergraduate research work focusing on patients with pulmonary disorders. Her love for basketball and clinical work drove her to pursue her Doctorate of Chiropractic (DC) at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) where she continued to be involved in research as a peer-mentor, tutor, and friend to all. Dr. Kapoor recently graduated from CMCC with Honours.

Dr. Crystal Draper, DC

CCA Senior Manager of Professional Practice

Dr. Crystal Draper is the Senior Manager of Professional Practice at the Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA). She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science Degree in Human Kinetics and Developmental Psychology from the University of Guelph and is a graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). In addition to her work at the CCA, she practices downtown Toronto at a family-based interdisciplinary clinic, focusing on pregnancy and postpartum care. Before joining the CCA, Dr. Draper was a faculty member and course coordinator for Clinical Diagnosis and Female Care and taught within the Chiropractic Techniques and Chiropractic Principles departments at CMCC. She has a number of peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented research at various conferences.
