Frequently Asked Questions

Navigate SCCA Learning Lab

  • How do I sign into the SCCA Learning Lab?

To sign in and register for or participate in courses in the SCCA Learning Lab, you need to be logged into your member profile on SCCA.ca. The two sites are connected so your SCCA.ca profile allows you to be automatically signed into Learning Lab. Clicking 'Sign In' on the top navigation of the Learning Lab will redirect you back to SCCA.ca to log into your member portal, and then you can return to Learning Lab to register or participate in courses.

  • How do I register for and participate in a live webinar in the SCCA Learning Lab?

Once you've landed on the SCCA Learning Lab and see you're logged in under your name, navigate to any "Live" course and click the Register button. You are now registered for the live webinar. You may complete the initial 'Before You Get Started' chapter up until the live webinar begins. The live webinar chapter of the course will open shortly before its scheduled date/time so be sure to mark it in your calendar! To access the live webinar, click the webinar link once it's available, and you will be prompted to use the Zoom app or web client to watch. Once the live webinar is finished, return to the course in the SCCA Learning Lab to complete the post webinar questions chapter and survey chapter. Once all chapters are complete, you will see your progress in the course reflect 100% and a Certificate of Attendance will be issued, if applicable.

  • How do I register for and participate in an on-demand course in the SCCA Learning Lab?

Once you've landed on the SCCA Learning Lab and see you're logged in under your name, navigate to any "On-Demand" course and click the Register button. You are now registered for the on-demand program, which can be completed at your own time and pace. You will see your progress throughout the course noted in percentage in the course toolbar. Once all chapters are complete, you will see your progress in the course reflect 100% and a Certificate of Attendance will be issued, if applicable. This Certificate is saved in your My Account section on the SCCA Learning Lab.

  • What kind of technology do I need to access the SCCA Learning Lab?

We recommend using the Chrome internet browser for an optimal user experience in the SCCA Learning Lab. As well, we recommend accessing Learning Lab from a computer or tablet rather than a phone.

  • I missed a live webinar. Can I watch it another way?

Many of our live webinars are recorded and will be made available to watch on-demand shortly after a live session has occurred.

  • How do I switch the SCCA Learning Lab from English to French (or vice versa)?

The SCCA Learning Lab is only offered in English at the moment.

  • How do I update my profile information?

To edit your first name, last name, or email address, you are required to make these changes in your SCCA.ca member profile. These changes cannot be made in the SCCA Learning Lab. All other profile changes in Learning Lab can be made in the My Account section.

  • Are courses free or do I need to pay?

Most courses on the SCCA Learning Lab are free. Each course will indicate whether they are free as part of your SCCA membership or available to enroll for a fee. Payment information can be set up in your My Account section on Learning Lab.

Certficates

  • Where can I find my Certificate of Attendance for any course that's been completed?

Where applicable, a Certificate of Attendance will be generated by the system after the course has been fully completed, which includes correctly answering the questions after the live or on-demand learning module(s) and submitting the feedback survey. Certificates of Attendance will be saved in your Learning Lab profile under My Account > Certificates. Please note that Certificates of Attendance cannot be manually issued by the SCCA.

  • Why didn't a Certificate of Attendance generate when I finished watching a live webinar?

In order to fully complete a course, after watching a live webinar, you will need to return to the SCCA Learning Lab, go back into the course that contained the live webinar, answer the post-webinar questions chapter, and complete the feedback survey chapter. Once the course shows 100% complete in the course toolbar, a Certificate of Attendance will be issued and saved in your My Account section of the Learning Lab.

  • I completed an on-demand program but didn’t get a Certificate of Attendance. How come?

As students do not accumulate CE/CC credits, Certificates of Attendance are not issued for most courses and webinars. Paid courses and longer format learning opportunities (such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training) will issue a Certificate of Attendance or Completion.

  • I've taken courses from SCCA previously, before Learning Lab was launched. Where can I find those Certificates of Attendance?

If you have previously completed a certificate-applicable course through SCCA, you would have been emailed a Certificate of Attendance at the email address provided at registration. We are unable to manually input past certificates into the SCCA Learning Lab platform.
